Yeghishe Charents House- Museum was founded in 1964, in the apartment where the poet lived from 1932-1937, and was opened to the public in 1976. There are 7.5 thousand pieces in the main collection, and 20 thousand in the research collection, including the poet’s personal items, documents, manuscripts, publications and other materials related to his life and work. The museum also maintains a permanent exhibition entitled “Charents in Fine Art‿. The surviving private library of the poet contains 1416 volumes.
