VAHAN TERYAN - 125TH ANNIVERSARY

This year is the 125th anniversary the famous Armenian poet Vahan Teryan. For this occasion number of events will be held.
According to the source the events will start on February 9- the day the poet was born.

"With Teryan" traditional ceremony will be held in the Komitas park-pantheon. A 900-page "Teryan" encyclopedia is intended to be published this year. Over 700 pictures, articles about the poet’s life, activities and his poetry will be available in it. A number of memorial events will be organized at Yerevan State University, National Academy of Sciences and at the school after V. Teryan. In addition, a scholarship named after V. Teryan will be provided to any higher educational establishment where departments of philology and linguistics are available. Composition competitions will be held in Armenian schools.
