CTS’ 2005 5th international tourism exhibition will be held in Yerevan on April 28-30. As the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) told ARKA News Agency, the exhibition is organized by the Armenian office of ASTA with the assistance of Ra ministry of Trade and Economic Development. 2 airline companies, 7 hotel complexes, 1 transportation organization, 13 travel agencies, 1 insurance company, 5 NGOs, 3 publishing houses, 1 news agency and 33 companies from Armenia, Belarus, Iran and Turkey will take part in the exhibition. 1,500 torches were lit late on April 23 on the Republican Square in central Yerevan in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The fire for the first torch was brought on a white armored personnel carrier, and the torchlight procession, organized by the Armenian Youth Federation and the ARF's Nikol Aghbalian Student Union, began its annual march to the Armenian Genocide Memorial.
Armenian clerics, with a huge cross above their heads, were in the front of the procession that was accompanied by drums beating. Tens of thousands of young people carried hundreds of national flags alongside a 30-meter long Armenian tricolor, sang patriotic songs and chanted "recognition."
After their arrival at the Memorial, a group of singers, including American Daniel Decker, German Kye Augaten, Bulgarian Tsvetan Tsvetkov, Finnish Inka and Moldavian Vitali Dani, sang the song "Adana," written by Decker, in 8 languages.

The first International Film Festival "Golden Apricot", will be held in Yerevan, Armenia on June 30 - July 4, 2004. The festival is organized by the Benevolent Fund for Culture Development, the Armenian Association of Film Critics and Cinema Journalists, the Armenian Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs of RA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RA, "Moscow" Cinema.
The objectives of the festival are to present new works by the film directors and producers in Armenia and foreign cinematographers of Armenian descent and to promote creativity and originality in the area of cinema and video art. Feature films, documentaries, and animation created between 2002 and 2004 are eligible to be presented at the festival.
The festival includes competition and non-competition (information) programs. The non-competition program includes retrospectives dedicated to 80th anniversaries of founding of Armenian cinema, Sergey Parajanov and Charles Aznavour, as well as best recent Swedish, Russian, German, Bulgarian films, and films from Armenian Diaspora.
A special program of video art will be presented by NPAK (Center of Innovative Experimental Arts).
The festival Founding Board is established, where number of local organizations are involved (SIL Group INC, Paradise Company, First Public Armenian TV channel, Armenian National Cinematheque, Hayfilm Studio, Sergey Parajanov Museum, etc.).

Armenian khachkars (cross-stones) will be displayed in Louvre within the framework of the Year of Armenia in France, which will be held in 2006-2007.
France's Ambassador to Armenia Henry Cuny informed ARMINFO, French experts of the famous museum arrived in Yerevan recently, who must select Khachkars from the funds of a number of museums of Armenia for the Louvre. Numerous cultural arrangements, as well as
trade exhibitions of food and other products made in Armenia will be organized within the framework of the Year of Armenia in France. The
ambassador mentioned that the apricot will become the main fruit symbol of Armenia, as Armenian apricots are famous for its flavouring quality
already all over the world. Henry Cuny mentioned that the holding of the Year will help to present wide sections of the population of France with rich culture of Armenia, which, in its turn, will attract the interest of the French to visit Armenia. "Armenia is one of the most stable countries of the world", the ambassador mentioned.
